BAPLA Picture Buyer's Fair to feature South Downs - Britain's newest National Park. PPL's specialist Sussex Image Library will focus on stunning pictures of the South Downs, Britain's newest National Park, at the BAPLA Picture Buyer's Fair in London next week. The 627 square mile swathe of rolling hills running between Beachy Head
and Winchester has been the subject of a 6 decade-long battle between land owners and campaigners to determine the boundaries. A South Downs National Park Authority will now be established to protect the area and preside over all future planning issues. The chalk hills that span Sussex and part of Hampshire, already attract 39 million visitors each year, and being the closest national park to London, this number is expected to increase considerably.
The new National Park also takes in the East Sussex capital of Lewes and the Western Weald, the woodlands north of the Downs in West Sussex. PPL is exhibiting within the BAPLA Village at the Business Design Centre, Islington between 6/7 May, where Barry Pickthall will be in attendence throughout the Fair.
